Welcome to Carrdus School

Welcome to Carrdus School. We are a co-ed day prep school for girls and boys aged between 3 and 11, located just outside Banbury on the borders of Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. We are a small and friendly country school and offer academic rigour with adventure and imagination at our heart. Our aim is to give every child a really happy and confident start to school life.

By focusing on the individual and enabling them to follow their Carrdus Pathway, every child can flourish and grow at their own pace. All children are different and at Carrdus we encourage everyone to discover their own talents by providing them with a wide range of opportunities, both in and outside of the classroom. Our beautiful grounds are a big part of life at Carrdus and alongside their Outdoor Learning lessons and Forest School, our children enjoy tree climbing, den building and gardening.

We see your child’s education as a partnership between us, the school and you, the parents so we work hard to build strong links between home and school as we know that this is the key to each child thriving. Most of all though, Carrdus is a school where children can be children, underpinned by strong core values of tolerance, honesty and respect and as a consequence our children are kind and considerate.

Headmaster, Edward Way

Carrdus has been the perfect start for our son. He is very happy, loves coming into school and enjoys being outdoors in the Nursery Garden, as well as the rest of the amazing grounds that Carrdus has.

Carrdus Parent - Nursery

“We were looking for a school with a nurturing environment that was well-suited to a creative child with a big imagination and somewhere with beautiful grounds that would encourage outdoor learning.  We wanted somewhere smaller that had a greater sense of community that our daughter could actually feel a part of.”

Carrdus Parent - Year 1

“We have seen strong academic development in our child and on the occasions we have requested further support, her teachers have been brilliant at offering their advice, help and extra resources.”

Carrdus Parent - Reception

My eldest daughter, who is in her last term of Year 6, has loved her time at Carrdus. She has excelled at every subject and grown with confidence, care and a lust for life and learning. She has thrived within the Carrdus community and I couldnt be more grateful and proud for the wonderful start that Carrdus has given her.
